Shop at Washington Square? Snap the receipt for William Walker

Washington Square is giving away up to $15,000 to local schools this year through School Cents, and William Walker is one of the schools in the running. How much of it we get depends on one thing: how many of our families upload their receipts.

If you shop or eat at Washington Square at all between now and March 31, 2027, this is the easiest fundraiser we have. There is nothing to buy that you were not already buying. You just take a picture of the receipt.

How it works

  • Step 1: Get the app. Download School Cents for iPhone or Android, or use the website at school-cents.com. Create an account and choose William Walker Elementary as your school.
  • Step 2: Shop or dine at Washington Square. Any store or restaurant in the center counts, and so do online orders you pick up in store and delivery orders placed through apps like DoorDash or UberEats.
  • Step 3: Upload the receipt. Tap Upload, take a photo of the paper receipt or a screenshot of a digital one, and submit. That is the whole job.

Every dollar you spend is 5 points for William Walker, and you get a 2,500-point bonus the first time you upload a receipt. Points add up across the whole school, and at the end of the program Washington Square splits the money among its schools based on who earned the most.

Double points in October

These Washington Square stores earn 2x points all month long:

  • Free People
  • Hot Topic
  • Pendleton
  • Sephora
  • Starbucks
  • Yankee Candle

A Starbucks run on the way to the mall counts. Early holiday shopping at Sephora or Pendleton counts double too.

Triple points all season

These stores earn 3x points on every purchase from now through March 31:

Abercrombie Kids, Apple, Bath & Body Works, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Champs, Dick's Sporting Goods, Foot Locker, H&M, LEGO, lululemon, Macy's, Mango, Shiekh, Travis Mathew, and Vuori.

If a new phone, winter sports gear, or a LEGO birthday present is in your future, buying it at Washington Square and snapping the receipt turns it into real money for our classrooms.

A few details worth knowing

  • Most ways of paying count, including debit, credit, gift cards, and SNAP/EBT. Loyalty rewards and trade-in credit do not earn points.
  • Credit card statements do not count. It has to be the actual receipt or a screenshot of the digital one.
  • One school per account. If you want to support a second school too, you need a second account under a different email.
  • We need to stay in the game. Schools that have not turned in at least $500 in receipts by February 1, 2027 can be dropped from the program. That is a low bar, and a few uploads from each family clears it easily.

Questions about the program itself are answered in the School Cents FAQ. Questions for us go to williamwalkerptc@gmail.com.
