We're here to support you.

The William Walker PTC exists to support learning, support teaching, and support community. Behind the fundraisers, volunteer coordination, community events, field trip support, and curriculum enrichment (Art Literacy, OBOB, Field Day, and more) is one goal: making your job easier and your students' year richer.

Our 2026–27 goals: improve attendance & school pride, and make PTC involvement more accessible for every family.

Teacher discretionary funds

A no-questions-asked fund for every classroom — spend it on whatever your students need.

Bigger idea? Grants fund projects that enhance academic and community-building efforts.

Staff Appreciation Week

A week of treats, meals, and thank-yous for everything you do.

Staff development days

Support for staff development day expenses, so growing your practice doesn't come out of pocket.

End-of-year parties

We help fund and staff the celebrations that close out the year.

Trained, Raptor-cleared volunteers for your classroom, field trips, and events.

PTC grants fund projects that enhance academic and community-building efforts at William Walker. Fill out the application online, or leave a paper copy in the PTC drawer in the main office.

Volunteers in Your Classroom

We love our volunteers — and so will you.

From parents and grandparents to community members, volunteers help make events and learning activities successful. The PTC Volunteer Coordinator is here to help you assess your needs, train volunteers, and get people into your classroom.

Request volunteers

Email your volunteer needs to the coordinator, or create your own signup in ParentSquare. Per BSD, volunteer signups must be communicated and posted exclusively through ParentSquare — and if you run your own signup, you're responsible for confirming volunteers are cleared in Raptor.

Raptor approval

All volunteers must be approved in Raptor before they can help in classrooms, on field trips, or at events. Not sure someone's cleared? We're happy to check Raptor for you.

Point families our way

If parents in your classroom want to volunteer, share the BSD Volunteer Process handout with them to get started — or send them to the coordinator and we'll connect directly.

PTC Meetings

Join us — in person or on Zoom.

Meetings are where the work gets decided — and teachers' voices carry a lot of weight. Come have a say on what we're working on, or use the time to reach parents directly:

  • Present something you're proud of, a request, or something parents should know.
  • Help educate parents — Kindness in the Classroom, Playful Inquiry, essential questions, and more.
  • Show off your grade level's projects — how can we present them? (Animal presentations, anyone?)

Let's Work Together

Help us coordinate better with teachers this year.

We're looking for grade-level liaisons — a teacher (or an active parent you'd recommend) from each grade who can be the bridge between classrooms and the PTC. Interested, or know a great fit? We'd love to hear from you.
